Lensbaby? - volcs0 - 08-02-2009 I've never even heard of this before.... looks fun. On sale today at Amazon for $70. Worth it? http://www.amazon.com/Lensbaby-Nikon-Mount-Camera-LB2N/dp/tech-data/B000GAOFA0 ![]() Edit: Sample shot added Re: Lensbaby? - pRICE cUBE - 08-02-2009 They can be fun if the effects are done right. I had some colleagues that had these and they used it for 2 months and haven't used them since. The novelty wore off. I think they key is to not overuse it, plan when and where it would be most effective instead of using it just because it is there. Re: Lensbaby? - mlfrank - 08-02-2009 Seems there is a new type of Lensbaby out now: http://www.lensbaby.com/index.php?r=GSLensbaby&gclid=CMPZ8_K_hZwCFRxNagodhFnD_A Of course it may have been out for months now and I was just oblivious to it all............ michael Re: Lensbaby? - JoeM - 08-02-2009 Why not just do it after the shot in Photoshop? Re: Lensbaby? - wowzer - 08-02-2009 I have a lensbaby 3G and it's not bad...just takes time and creativity. I dont have time and my creativity...well it's hard to be creative without time. ;-) I plan to use it soon, as Nikoncafe has a challenge for the topic, 'Hands'...so I have an idea of what I want to shoot... Re: Lensbaby? - ScottG - 08-03-2009 I'm not sure whether this thread has saved me money or not... I have wanted a lensbaby lens since I first saw them, but they were too expensive, so I have resisted. Of course, at 50% off, this was too much of a good deal to pass up... so I added the macro attachment too. Wait a few weeks, and I will post the results... maybe cheers scott Re: Lensbaby? - laarree - 08-03-2009 I have a Lensbaby, but after dabbling with it for a while, it's been sitting idle in a drawer with my other rarely used lenses and lens accessories. I'd rather do special effects like the ones Lensbabys give you in post-processing. It can be fun to LBs like it is to play with plastic cameras like Holgas and Lomos, shoot pinhole photos, experiment with Polaroid emulsion transfers, etc. I've seen some intriguing and beautiful images produced using these photo methods, just as I've liked some images I've seen captured with Lensbabys-- if you get one, please post a web gallery. Re: Lensbaby? - Mike V - 08-03-2009 Try to borrow one if you can. The novelty wears off quickly. Re: Lensbaby? - ScottG - 08-03-2009 Too late, the order has already gone in. Watch for either a spectacular gallery of photos, or a lensbaby on Ebay cheers scott |
