Come on down! - lipskidder - 09-23-2009

Watching Price is Right. Here are the bids in the exact order:

1500, Drew!
1199!
875!!
What was the last bid? Ok, 874!!

Serious? Serious, contestant number 4???

Haha. Drew had to keep the laugh inside.

Um... what was the item?

Jeff

Re: Come on down! - Buzz - 09-23-2009

clearly bidder #4 thinks the next item up for bid is gonna be better and more to their liking...

Re: Come on down! - lipskidder - 09-23-2009

Refer for bidder #3's bid to see the humor.

After that the same guy bid 1100 and the item turned out to be 1099. So funny.

He just got on stage after winning by bidding $1.

It is dollar day for this guy!

Re: Come on down! - lipskidder - 09-23-2009

Oh man, he just won his game by getting close to a price by $1, exact number and then $11 - which is kinda like two ones. Smile

He just won a spot to the showcase showdown by after two spins - you guessed it - got $1.

Unemployment = watching too much TV.

I thought that show was on at night.
Twice a day ?

I was on the Price is Right, Oct. 14 1998. It is nerve wracking being down there and bidding, you lose all your rational thinking. I won a trip to Switzerland.

Awesome, pRICE! My roommate was on the PIR in 1995 and won a '95 Ford T-Bird. *Just* missed winning the Showcase showdown (he wouldn't have been able to afford the income taxes at the time so it was probably better for him).

He did a cartwheel on stage after winning the T-Bird and they used it for PIR advertising for a few weeks. He seemed to be having trouble with the rational thinking as well, if I hadn't known he was a teetotaler I'd have assumed he was drunk!

Re: Come on down! - Finney - 09-23-2009

My story is a little different than pRICE's story.

When I was on The Price is Right, on April 16th, 2002, I was one of the first four contestants called up. After losing the first five pricing games (and thinking how disappointed my Grandmother would be) we started the last pricing game. We were bidding on an oriental rug.

Contestant 1: $1100
Me: $1350
Contestant 2: $1351

At this point I was really sad, because I knew that I had to have guessed the price exactly to get up on stage.

Contestant 3: $1352

Somehow, I was slightly gratified knowing that it would be equally hard for Contestant 2, who had just outbid me by $1, could win either.

Turns out we all overbid, and I got another last chance!

Mr. Modesty failed to mention he won a FREAKING CAR.
