Hmm, someone commented in the iFixit post that the video card might be replaceable. Being able to upgrade the CPU and GPU would be a HUGE plus for an iMac.

You definitely can replace the CPU. The question is whether the firmware will let you use a faster one, especially a QuadCore.

The CPU (socketed, but Apple only sells a Mobo/CPU combo for service parts) and GPU(video card) have been replaceable in EVERY Aluminum iMac made. Nothing really new about the inside of that. Looks very much like the last gen.

I guess the real issue is a reasonably priced source of parts that can swap in. A 2560 x 1440 display is a lot of pixels. It almost screams for a 1 GB Radeon 5850.
