Anyone here own one of these ceramic coffee mugs?

I saw one today at Whole Foods, cracked me up. In person, it really does look like a paper coffee cup, until you pick it up, it's heavy, a nice product, the lid is rubbery and flexible, but not flimsy.

When I drink espresso, I want a real cup, preferably a classic miniature espresso cup, ceramic, heavy. But I enjoy brewed coffee out of a traditional white disposable paper cup with a plastic lid, don't know why, but it tastes special that way, and I'll sometimes reuse a paper cup a second time (after that, it's no good) this looks like a fun solution. A non-disposable disposable cup.

I wonder what other "I am not a.." products they'll think of next .. advertising what you're not instead of what you are...

Guy at work has one for coffee, looks like a good product although I suspect the top will stain over time.

Only pussies drink their java like that. Get a real mug, and actually drink it. If it takes you long enough for it to cool, you ain't drinking it fast enough.

Remember, a cup is 8 oz, not this weenie 5-6oz the food service industry claims it is. My 12 cup camp percolator holds 60 oz. Should be 96 oz. Arseholes.

If you buy that do you need to trade in your other cup?

Geez Racer, ya still stalkin' me? ...what if I already have a "real mug" -- and like this cool ceramic (8 oz., not 5, or 6 oz.) novelty cup anyway? I like all kinds and sizes of mugs. My current fave is a Krispy Kreme mug modeled after the traditional diner style mug, heavy ceramic, heavy enough to be a murder weapon.

Camp percolator? Yikes! Why not just fry the coffee grounds in bacon fat, and and squeeze the juice into a cup with a camp boot sock?

Just kiddn. I trust you have normal (non re-boiled) methods of brewing, and prefer savoring a decently-brewed cup of joe, in the jumbo-sized mug of your choice!

Agree about the cup-size shell game. And it's even worse when buying coffee beans that are sold at lb. prices but are actually 8 or 10 oz. instead of a full pound. That is just wrong. To vendors, I say, if you're gonna raise the prices, then, raise the prices. Do it honestly, don't sneak in cost hikes by quietly decreasing volume. When I buy a bag of coffee beans, I want the whole pound.

Does the cup get too hot to handle when filled with just brewed coffee? There's no mug handle to it. I guess you'll have to use a coffee cup paper sleeve with it(?). And does that rubbery lid have a smell to it? Even a faint rubbery smell would make me throw it into the trash.

A "cup" of coffee starts at 12 oz. in my world.

Got one last Christmas and use it almost daily. It's not too hot to grab when filled. The inside of the rubber lid has discolored a bit from the coffee, but who cares? My only wish is that it held a bit more.
