need a bread machine recommendation - lazydays - 11-04-2009

My bread machine (old) is no longer responsive to the buttons. I can't do anything but plug it in and pray. So I'm looking for a new bread machine and would love to hear your recommendations. I'll be googling as well but I love to hear the scoop from this crowd. Also, my wife asked if it is possible to get one that makes more normal looking loaves. Thanks for any suggestions.

amazon sells the Zojirushi BBCCX20 which makes a normal looking loaf of bread. Is this the same one you have?

2nd the Zo. BBCX20 is the one, but I highly recommend moving the dough to a loaf pan and oven bake.

I got the panasonic SD-YD250 (I think) for like $110 or so and it's OK.

I just got essentially this one from Costco. $70 plus tax Just did a loaf tonight. 3 year warranty, and an extra year from my AmEx card. I know I have a hassle free bread machine for the next 4 years for $20 a year. Grab your 50 lbs of bread flour and your bag of yeast too while you are there. It is also $80 shipped online from costco.com

But a bread machine has two advantages:
1) Set and forget. It takes three minutes to load the machine, hit start, and clean the measuring utensils. No need to worry about when to take out, etc. You can also set many recipes with a timer so you can wake up to fresh, hot bread.
2) You can make an infinite number of delicious types of bread.
