how to copy a page from a google book - space-time - 11-04-2009
first, I am googling this topic and I found some Python script, but I am not going to try that. and some hits are not availabe, or blocked form work.
There is a page I am interested in, but I want full resolution. I can zoom in and see the images pretty sharp, and I can take a screenshot, but then I only see 1/2 of the page. I can scroll down and capture the other 1/2. and then I can try to stich them.
Or if someone has a huge resolution monitor (perhaps in portrait orientation) and can take the screenshot for me that would also be very nice (any volumteers?). I don't have the address handy now, will post later.
or if you know of an easy way to download a high resolution page from a google book, please let me know

Print as PDF?
That could then be opened in Photoshop and saved as a jpeg.
Not sure if that'd work...just a thought.

Download the book, open in Preview or Acrobat Reader, and print the page you want?
Kind of a pain... but less painful than screenshots of half the page.

how do you save it as PDF? I can't (Internet Explorer).
Also when I try to print, I get the LEFT frame, the right frame is EMPTY

On Windows you could use a program like CutePDF to print any file to PDF.

Hmm... that's interesting..
It appears that that work is not available as a PDF download.
If it were, the "Download PDF" link would be in the upper right corner.
I'm not sure HOW to get the page...
I'll try a couple things.

I found some of these files as JPEG in the Temporary Items, so for now that will do. Sometimes they show up there, sometimes not. it seems to be random...
