Free to Air Satellite? - space-time - 11-19-2009
There were several threads recently about COMCAST and many people complained about their prices and services.
I was reminded today about Free to Air Satellite, which I kind of heard about before but never really looked into seriously. I am now starting to look into to see what's involved and what can you get.
Even if the cost of the equipment is high, seems like you will recover that money after several months, taking into account that the comcast bill can be as high as over $100
Does anyone have first hand experience with Free to Air Satellite channels?

There is a lot less than there used to be. It was mostly PBS, gospel and mega-church the last time I looked.

I have been considering it, but I have trees growing up to 45 degrees to the south and southwest, so I would be limited to what stations I got. The equipment doesn't seem all that high, really. There are a few forums on this.

It is called free for a reason. You ain't be watching HBO for free. We had one but the dish came down and hasn't gone up. Depends what satellite you are looking at. We had Telstar V I believe. It was mostly foreign language programming but If you find what you like I suppose it is worth it. It is hard to find local installers . Check this out. http://www.lyngsat.com/

Can you get the national feeds of NBC, ABC and CBS? Aren't there a lot of Fox channels?
