How could the answer be no?

Do not eat iPod Shuffle.

What on Earth are "regular" headphones? The rare ones with a 1/4" plug and big leather strap that fit over one's ears or the ubiquitous white ones that fit in them?

Yes, though you may need an adapter for the plug . . .

I have found that my shuffle struggles to drive the bigger "studio" or "DJ" style headphones.

The result is no sound.

All my other little headphones work great. Long live the Shuffle!

Impedance mismatch will result in poor sound and will hurt the Shuffle's audio output circuitry.

iPods are designed to drive 32 ohm headphones/ear buds.

>iPods are designed to drive 32 ohm headphones/ear buds.

So is that a "yes" or a "no?"

Re: Can regular headphones be used with Shuffle? - Donkey Hotay - 04-06-2006

If the headphones are 64 ohm impedance, then "no"
If the headphones are 36-40 ohm impedance, then "maybe yes"
If the headphones are 32 ohm impedance, then "yes"
If the headphones are 24-28 ohm impedance, then "maybe yes"
If the headphones are 16 ohm impedance, then "no"
If the headphones are 8 ohm impedance, then "no"
If the headphones are 4 ohm impedance, then "no"

You will have to get the technical specifications of the headphones from the manufacturer.

You want the impedance value to match the iPod's output circuitry as closely as possible.

I can't tell you "yes" or "no". You have neither specified the headphones by make and model number nor specified the headphone impedance value.

My point, exactly.
