Looking for recommendations on a casual shoe with a good sole for snow - chopper - 11-30-2009

Fell in some semi-cheap sneakers last winter and put my shoulder in grave danger. This year, looking for a good pair of casual shoes that will offer better traction in snow and ice. Any recommendations? I looked at some British Nights (?) last night at Target which seemed to have an aggressive sole.

Could also get a pair of Red Wings or one of their brands--they have a store in town.

I've been wearing a pair of these lately. They are great in the snow. Looks like only size 8 is left, but you can probably find them elsewhere:

It's actually ice that is the issue (or packed snow).

I wear skate shoes most of the time because they generally have great ice grip. It's very much like siping on car tires. And yeah, we have a lot of ice in Tahoe. 11° at my house this morning.
