...a bright flash and a whiff of ozone... - archipirata - 12-17-2009 I never thought it would happen to me but alas today I did it. ![]() While this is someone else's photo, it is identical to what I saw after the sparks. Doh! Re: ...a bright flash and a whiff of ozone... - MacArtist - 12-17-2009 I hate when that happens. Re: ...a bright flash and a whiff of ozone... - rgG - 12-17-2009 Been there, done that exact same thing with some Black & Decker Hedge Hogs. I too never thought it would happen to me. Instead of one really long extension cord, I now have a long one and one short one. A replacement plug is not that hard to put on either end, thankfully. ![]() Re: ...a bright flash and a whiff of ozone... - Racer X - 12-17-2009 My dad always ran over the extension cord of the electric mower with the mower. And the toe of his chukka boots twice. Re: ...a bright flash and a whiff of ozone... - mikebw - 12-17-2009 Extension cords can make great speaker wire BTW. Right up there with cinder block bookshelves. Check that- they make cider block bookshelves look fashionable. Re: ...a bright flash and a whiff of ozone... - LyleH - 12-17-2009 I've searched a lot for a "connector" that will nicely splice 2 wires together that I've sheared apart doing the same chore. I know you can put a plug on each end of the severed cord, but it seems like there ought to be some kind of a slim connector that will safely join the 2 ends and not be much thicker than the cord. Anyone seen such a thing? LyleH Re: ...a bright flash and a whiff of ozone... - freeradical - 12-17-2009 This is a MUCH better product for trimming hedges. Go for quality. I agree on using electrical cord as speaker wire. ![]() |
