He makes a good point: "But I think if you enter into the spirit of them and see them for what they are which is a kind of a Saturday-night, kick-your-feet-up, sit-back, do-not-necessarily-engage-every-area-of-your-brain, you can have a fun time."

They're no different than hundreds of sci-fi & monster B-movies from the 50s, which we now treasure even if they were never very good. I don't know if SyFys stuff will endure, but there's room in the world for that kind of schlock. They're sure more entertaining than big-budget, A-grade crap like Transformers and GI Joe.

heck yeah. thats really the ONLY thing I miss not having the SciFi channel. It was nice to sit back and relax and watch some really bad movies on a saturday. It took me back to my childhood past when we would visit the grandparents in FLA where they could get things like Creature Feature.

Hey, B movie sci fi / monster schlock has its own silly attraction. I just don't understand why Dean Cain has to be in all of them. Can't he get better work, or did he just peak as Superman ?

If anyone is interested, my nephew just got hired at one of the production companies for these films. (No, I am not joking... this is a great career break for him, because this sort of thing is right up his alley, he's into the whole sci-fi/fantasy genre, and especially given the state of the job market for new college grads right now...)

So-- if you have any great cockamamie ideas for sci-fi shlock movies of the week, send them my way, and I'll pass them along to him. Big Grin
