seasoned tortilla shell, where to buy? - davemchine - 04-08-2006

A few months ago I had a chance to eat a taco in a seasoned tortilla shell. It was amazing. I could have just eaten it without anything inside. Grocery stores around here don't have any such thing. Any online recommendations of where to buy such a thing?

They probably do, you're just not looking in the right place. I look in the health food section for a brand called Tumaro's Gourmet Tortillas. They come in three or four varieties -- jalapeno/cilantro, vegetable, black bean, etc.

Higher-end grocery store will probably have them. They are made in L.A., and I buy them in KC, so you should be able to track them down. Yeah, they ARE good! Jalapeno/Cilantro is my fave; the veggie is a little TOO veggie. Good luck!

heck, we even have them in Seattle. 2 or 3 brands too.

we have some yuppie flavors mostly. Sun dried tomato, spinach, lime cilantro and a few others. Many use the flavored ones for roll up sandwiches. An example of some really plain ones
