Is it possible to- - mikebw - 04-08-2006 Use a VPN program (virtual private network) to connect a computer from one location to another computer in a separate location (many miles apart, separate ISP but both on the Internet) such that both computers will appear to be part of the same sub-net? If this confuses you, basically what I am trying to do is connect two macs so that one can play music from the other's iTunes shared music library. Remember how iTunes used to let you do this, back with version 3 or whatever? Yeah, I want to do that again, but with the latest version. Re: Is it possible to- - ztirffritz - 04-08-2006 iTunes still does that. I use it all the time. Using the latest version of iTunes. As for the subnet thing, I'm sure that where there is a will, there is a way, but sounds like alot of work for a few songs. Put them on your iPod and be done with it. Re: Is it possible to- - mikebw - 04-08-2006 Yeah, I know it still does the sharing, but Apple limited it to within your own subnet, so now anyone outside your LAN can't access your library anymore. Maybe I'll check versiontracker or something. Re: Is it possible to- - S.Taylor - 04-08-2006 If you find anything, please post. |
