Airport Extreme Security Question - Stavs - 04-08-2006 I have an Airport extreme set up that consists of the following: Airport Extreme Base Station hard wired to my G5 Airport Express Connected to Replay TV Airport Express Connected to Replay TV #2 Aiport Extreme enabled iBook My question is how do I set up security for my network? I see the options in the Airport Admin utility, but I don't really know what does what and how it affects my network. Essentially all I want to do is keep my neighbors/passer bys from accessing my bandwidth/network. TIA, Stavs Re: Airport Extreme Security Question - itsmylittlebrothersbike - 04-08-2006 You would need set up your network from scratch. First, set up the AP extreme that is hooked to your G5. While setting it up, choose the type of security you need. Now all you need to do is add the AP expresses back one at a time. As you add them to your AP extreme network, they get secured. Now your network is password protected from those pesky neighbors. Good luck. Re: Airport Extreme Security Question - iaJim - 04-08-2006 But what type of security does Stavs need to do what he wants? Re: Airport Extreme Security Question - elmo3 - 04-08-2006 Tell Airport Extreme to allow access only by MAC address. And tell AE not to broadcast its wireless network name.
