Ice too. May I ask why you ask?

and ice...... just missed being inside a 12 car pileup this afternoon, and was able to steer through a five car pileup without getting smooshed 2 minutes later.

News flash people... bridges freeze before the roads !!! D'oh !

It was like that 'driving through the crash' scene in "Days of Thunder". My 11 year old was fortunately completely silent during the experience. And I was too busy to pee my pants...

I've driven in quite a bit of snow and ice. I vividly remember
going to Cascade Ski Resort, now closed, and you had travel
a short distance on the Blue Ridge Parkway to get there and
soon as we hit it in my 60's VW it was nothing but ice about 1/4"
thick, out came the chains and away we went, she was like
driving a tank.

The problem most people in 4x4's around here is they don't think
about having to stop, they think it will stop as good as they will go.

Ice also. Lived in South Dakota for many years. Ice covered roads don't stop you from getting where you need to go.

I do remember one time leaving Sioux Falls, SD during an ice storm. Glare ice on I-90. Normally on ice you can drive slower and get where you need to. The wind was blowing hard enough that day that it caught the side of my minivan and that would cause it to temporarily lose control and start to fish tail no matter how slow I was driving.

It was a white knuckle ride that day.

We happen to be in Norther VA this weekend and we have been out half a dozen times, often for no reason. Well, one reason. Driving my 4WD truck in snow for the first time was not to be missed.
