Silver lining for Democrats after MA loss - Dennis S - 01-20-2010

There are only 59 Senators in the Democratic Caucus. Screw you, Joe Lieberman.

Jeez, you can be nasty, Dennis.

How is it a silver lining?

Just wait until there are 48 after the next national election. By a population that is tired of having stuff rammed down their throats by the 'party in power'.

It's typically foolish. After railing about exactly the same behavior from a Republican Congress/White House for almost a decade, the Democrats are doing the same thing, and wonder why the same arguments they used against Bush & co are falling on their heads.

The republicans left them absolutely no choice.
What an obedient little soldier you've become lately.

There's always a choice. The argument of the kindergartner and the demagogue has always been "Look what you MADE me do !" And now that the Democratic party apparatchiks are talking about the 'nuclear option' to get their healthcare program into law by going around having to need a Senate vote.... well, it's just more of the same.

Again, you cannot decry 'dirty politics' on the part of the party in power, and then use the SAME tactics when you are in power without being hypocritical. Did the Republicans do the same thing ? You betcha. They're all kids in the schoolyard.

But that's the nature of politics. Wagering on the short attention span and memory of the voters is usually a safe bet.

If this election has the same effect on Obama's presidency that the '94 mid-terms had on Clinton's, then it IS a silver lining. I'll bet Clinton still sends Gingrich Christmas cards thanking him.

As it is Obama is being blamed for abandoning his base. Wanna call Dick Morris?
