I am a MBP Doofus™ - Markintosh - 03-16-2010

Last month it was coffee. Yesterday the new MBP was in a padded backpack that hit the garage floor after slipping out of the seat. Just the dent...no other visible damage. Yeah I know...potential HD damage and warranty issues.

Eff. Eff Eff.

For you, I'd go with Vtech next time.

Or maybe no more portables.

A padded backpack allowed that sort of damage? My MBP was in a Waterfield bag that fell off of an airport cart onto the concrete...nothing...bag wasn't fazed at all.

Yes, the damage surprised me too. I am just glad the screen did not shatter. There is a dent on the upper left corner there too.

V-Tech....LOLZ.

Ouch! :banghead:

Before I put my 17" MBP in a Speck case, it was much easier for the "naked" surface to slip through my fingers. The Speck case adds just a bit of extra "purchase" when I'm lifting it out of my backpack. This is the second MBP I've put into a Speck. I can't imagine not protecting my machine with a case.

I have the Matias Laptop Armor Stretch Bag

Watch the video.

this one (not the one i have) is only $20, down from $99.

"The patented Corner Protection System surrounds the edges of your laptop with multiple layers of foam, insulating it from the outer frame of the laptop compartment. In the event of a fall, the ABS frame absorbs most of the impact, while Foam Spacers cushion your laptop and keep its fragile corners away from the collision."

this is the same as mine:

At least you don't have to worry about getting that first ding or scratch anymore.

Re: I am a MBP Doofus™ - Tofer - 03-17-2010

That doesn't look like a horrible bump. I fell off my bike with my aluminum powerbook in it, and it was pretty dinged up on one corner. I took a hammer to it and carefully pounded it back into shape. Afterwards, you could barely tell there was a dent.

How did you get the Powerbook into the bike?
