Need a recommendation for an iPhone car dock - eburgian - 04-08-2010

I'm mainly interested in trading up from my iGo charger to something that would allow me to do the following: charge the iPhone, transmit audio to my fm radio (no aux input), and hold the iPhone so that it isn't sliding around the car.

I see several car kits in the Apple store. Those in the $30 range seem to be only chargers, others will hold the iPhone, but once you get into fm transmitters, it looks like you're into $60+. I also see that the Tom-Tom Kit doesn't transmit via FM, so I'd need to go back to my old cassette adapter or replace my radio.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: OK, it looks like the Apple Store has the Griffin RoadTrip with SmartScan for $100 and the Belkin TuneBase FM with Handsfree also for $100. Any experience with them?

I wouldn't pay much for a FM transmitter, in most situations I have found that it doesn't work that great (expensive or cheap about the same). It was very tiring looking for a station that sounds good after every 10 miles or sooner. I would use the cassette adapter if you can, I have never used one but I have heard they are a lot better than FM transmitters. I use aux with my new car and it sounds so much better than any FM transmitter I have ever used, I would hate to go back.

I bought this one from the link below for my last car and it worked better than any other transmitter I used. It's only $16.00, it was ok but still nothing like Aux.

I use a two pronged solution. I have a Monster charger / FM transmitter. I also use a Belkin (I'm pretty sure its a Belkin) holder that secures the iPod by sitting in a cupholder.
