Is this the House shot with Canon 5D? - space-time - 05-04-2010 I thought they shot the Season Finale of House with some Canon DSLR, 5D or D5 (I am not sure which one is the correct model name, I am a Pentax guy). Is this the season finale? Re: Is this the House shot with Canon 5D? - Doc - 05-04-2010 May 17th. Re: Is this the House shot with Canon 5D? - space-time - 05-04-2010 aha, thanks Re: Is this the House shot with Canon 5D? - NewtonMP2100 - 05-04-2010 ....House will be shot in the Season Finale......? ....spoiler...? Re: Is this the House shot with Canon 5D? - Sam3 - 05-04-2010 Yep, the season finale of House is filmed (videographed) with a Canon 5D.http://www.dpreview.com/news/1004/10041302canon5dIhouse.asp Here are some pretty neat shorts all shot with the 5D: http://www.petapixel.com/2010/04/09/the-last-3-minutes-showcases-new-canon-5d-mark-ii-24p-capabilities/ http://www.usa.canon.com/dlc/controller?act=GetArticleAct&articleID=2326 Re: Is this the House shot with Canon 5D? - RAMd®d - 05-04-2010 focus was hard with these lenses but more “cine-style” lenses are being made as we speak. Can somebody explain what feature(s) make a lens a "cine-style" lens? Re: Is this the House shot with Canon 5D? - vision63 - 05-04-2010 I watched part of it. Enjoyed the look but didn't make "House" any more bearable for me. Re: Is this the House shot with Canon 5D? - Mike V - 05-06-2010 RAMd®d wrote: Reduced (on none) breathing when focusing. Long focus throw. Smooth and repeatable focus, zoom and iris rings i.e. direct link from ring to mechanism with end stops (and no click stops). Gears on focus, zoom and iris. No image movement when focusing. Centered tracking when zooming. Parfocal. Front element doesn't extend or rotate when focusing or zooming. Focus (especially infinity) doesn't change with temperature. Colour matched across different lenses. Low flare. Low distortion. For example Zeiss have a series of lenses for stills and cine use. The glass is the same, but they are housed differently. The stills versions are about $1,000 each. The cine versions are about $4,000 each. A typical cine prime lens can easily cost 20, 30 or even 40 grand. A typical cine zoom lens can easily cost well over 100 grand and they don't even cover full frame i.e. the cine frame is more like 1.4x crop. |
