Any way to pw protect movies in iTunes?? - JPK - 05-04-2010 My new iPad has become a favorite of my kids. They love watching downloaded music videos and kids shows. I wanted to put a few movies on there for the odd time that I would have enough free time to actually watch. Nothing hardcore, but certainly R rated. Is there any way to password protect them so they cant just pick up the iPad and start watching Goodfellas? Thanks, JPK Re: Any way to pw protect movies in iTunes?? - kj4btkljv - 05-04-2010 There is a preference in iTunes called "Parental", but it only blocks when sharing your library and content from the Store. So, doesn't look like there's a good way to do it. Having said that, there is a really cool app called AirVideo that might work on the iPad. This lets you serve movies from any computer, and "tune in" on the iPod, iPhone, and maybe the new iPad. This program does support a password, on the server portion. Doing it this way, you could put the kid movies on the iPad directly, and stream your movies from any computer on your LAN. Think that would work? http://www.inmethod.com/air-video/index.html Jeff Re: Any way to pw protect movies in iTunes?? - lazydays - 05-04-2010 That is a frustration for me also. Parental controls are really lacking in the itunes/appletv arena. Re: Any way to pw protect movies in iTunes?? - Racer X - 05-05-2010 That's because your kids don't have their own log-in accounts. You can restrict based on ratings using parental controls. Re: Any way to pw protect movies in iTunes?? - JPK - 05-05-2010 Racer X, I think you are correct on a Mac, but I am not aware of log in accounts on an iPad?
