Best way to clean a window screen w/out removal? - Psurfer - 05-05-2010 any tips? This screen is getting clogged up on the outside (old spider webs, tree debris, etc). I'm thinking of using a brush or something to push the foreign stuff out from the inside... I take them out though so they can be rinsed and dried with compressed air a bit quicker. Pollen usually comes off with the vacuum cleaner. It's a little hard to get to from outside, and it's one of those small cranked open types that doesn't have a lot of room to access the screen from the outside. I may start w/a brush or broom -wish I had one w/small enough bristles to push through the screen, though- then, follow up w/a leaf blower... Spray on a little ammonia, then hose 'er down with hot water. The downside is that you end up with dirt stains on your siding. I am curious, though. Most modern window screens are designed to be removed from inside the house. It often requires a bit of legerdemain to stick 'em back in , but it can be done.
