I hope the ones that are cheaper than that work--just bought one for $29 (not the greatest price IMO) from pcmicrostore (Young Micro? SATA/IDE to USB).
$37 is robbery considering the same functionality with a case is usually less.

This is the one I purchased (actually three) for myself, and two tech friends of mine, they work really well. They were $22 on sale, last time I saw a price it was $29.:
