Where Does Mail Keep The Mail? - Mac-A-Matic - 04-21-2006

Hey everyone,

I want to transfer the mail messages in Mail from my computer to another one that I'm giving to my parents. Where are the messages located? And is this a simple, drag and drop kind of thing?

Thanks!

Home > Library > Mail (and > Mail Downloads).

And yes, in my experience, it has been drag-and-drop. I have used this to sync email between a desktop and laptop. To be safe, make sure to also copy over Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.mail.plist.

PeterB - by "Home" I assume you mean the top level of a particular user account. I find a folder labeled "Mail" but not one labeled "Mail Downloads". I used the Finder Find command as well as visual search. What did I do wrong?

Home meaning the user's home folder, yes.

Mail Downloads may not be there, or may be empty, depending...

mjgkramer, you didn't do anything wrong...
