Excel v.X crashes upon startup? - JEBB - 04-22-2006 Excel v.X crashes upon startup? I restarted it a half dozen times from the icon in the dock. This just started to occur today. My computer is a 12" 1.5GHz G4 PowerBook 768MB running MacOS 10.3.9. Anyone else have this problem? Any quick insights? Thanks. Re: Excel v.X crashes upon startup? - JJ - 04-22-2006 repair permissions reboot Excel v.X STILL crashes upon startup - JEBB - 04-22-2006 I ran Cocktail and repaired permissions with Disk Utility but Excel still crashes on start-up. Any further suggestions would be appreciated. Re: Excel v.X crashes upon startup? - New.Dad - 04-22-2006 reinstall? Re: Excel v.X crashes upon startup? - ATT - 04-23-2006 I ran into this problem with word a few weeks ago. Tried everything, repair permission, Disk warrior, etc... nothing worked. However, I found that Microsoft just put out an update awhile ago. Installed it and see that will do the trick. Re: Excel v.X crashes upon startup? - JEBB - 04-23-2006 I am beginning to believe it is the Office 2004 Test Drive that has caused the problem. I've used the 'Remove Office' that came with 2004 Test Drive to remove all the components it recognized for 2004 Test Drive but that didn't work. I have also reinstalled Office X but it still crashes when Excel is started or, if I get it running by starting it from a document, when I call up Project Gallery. |
