I would have thought the PRAM battery to be the least likely fix to work! Good catch, RAMmy!!

I am having the exact same issue and was hopeful that a PRAM battery would be the fix. Unfortunately it was not and I think my NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT is hosed. I am going to put in a reasonable replacement and hope that it does the trick.
