Well, there's a digital picture frame on Woot, but it is very small.
Has anyone here ever used one of the larger 12-15" digital frames? Hitachi has one in the $280-300 range.
I am thinking of one for my son's b'day. Do they work well, and are they worth the money?

I have this one in my office and love it. I believe it needs a PC to upload pics though.

We have a Coby DP-882 - an 8" digital picture frame. Very versatile, can use a usb flash drive or several memory cards such as cf, etc. for memory, as it has no built-in memory.
It will display photos, and can also play music from your memory card, and also does video via your memory card. It works great with Macs. There is also lots of flexibility in viewing photos, including having the pics randomly displayed, as well as having each picture displayed for as little as 5 seconds and as long as 1 day.
We currently have 400 pictures in a 1 gig usb flash drive, and it is only 1/3 used. I've seen this unit for $129. I think anything smaller than 8" (diagonal) would be too small - we can view the pics from across the room. Resolution is 800 x 600. It also does an excellent job of downsizing the photos to fill the screen rather than cut off part of the image.
