Three reviews of font managers
#1

Apparently they all all the best.

Note that these guys need better editing. There's brand new word in the Lino Xplorer review ("excerted"). Apparently, a lot of people do not know how to spell "exerted".

Here's a sentence from their review of Portfolio 8:

When Apple released its Aperture software, the presentation on the web site and the touted capabilities rose high expectations.

Linotype FontExplorer X got a 5 rating, but is for single users only

FontAgent Pro 3.1 got a 4 rating

Suitcase Fusion got a 3 rating

Each of the reviewers gave the reviewed product a strong recommendation. And actually, I linked to the wrong "Fusion" review; I posted a newer one here yesterday. The more recent one was much more positive.

Also, it appears that I need an editor as well, or perhaps just someone to type for me. Sheesh.

Isn't "exsert" the opposite of "insert?"

I really take issue with their contention that using a background daemon to load and auto-activate fonts, as FontAgent Pro and FontExplorer X do, is somehow inferior to keeping a full-blown app open at all times, a la Suitcase. I'd say the daemon is superior: it doesn't get in your way, there's no easy way to accidentally kill it off, and both FAP and FEX are far more reliable than Suitcase has been.
