what are you going to be doing with it?

if i didnt care about the money, then the 4850 -- i do not like to pay sales tax -- so i would probably BTO from powermax...

What is the iMac being used for and whose money is paying for it?

I voted for the Radeon/ATI card, but that makes it a $2000 computer. This card is overkill except for gamers and video editors. For most people I would recommend a 24" refurb.

InDesign, mostly, and cost isn't really a consideration, per se -- that is, the upper end iMac is the ceiling (no Mac Pro) but if $50 more for the ATi is a better choice, then it'll be spent.
