okay, in my efforts to get the Install cd to pop out when i restarted (so i can boot from DW) i got the mac to go into Safe Boot.

can i do anything from here? it's a completely blank desktop.

don't know.

i'm running Disk Warrior again. if that doesn't help, i'm going to boot into Target mode and use my laptop to access the Mini hard hard. some info on Apple says corrupt OS 9 fonts can sometimes cause this. it seems a possibility since i've been having issues in classic. i'll pull out the OS 9 system folder.

okay, nothing short but a re-install of the system software would bring it back.
