I was supposed to fly out at 5 but tho my plane is here there is a problem in Newark where I was supposed to connect for my flight to Ohio, sothe plane can't leave. The only flight before tomorrow night is at 5 AM to newark, then to chicago (!) and arriving in Ohio at 4:15.
Sucks.

Yes it does. I truly feel your pain. And I suppose the night's lodging is on your dime.

Did the Hartford thing ten years ago, and gave up my first class seat to LAX on an already cramped 737, so that Baby Buzz could sit with his buddy/teammate and his family on our way home from a baseball tournament. I got stuck next to the two screaming babies on the plane, while the buddy's mom got my seat up front... Baby Buzz basically took her seat, and of course it was Mrs. Buzz who brokered the deal w/ her airline pals.
Hartford memories.
Been in and out of Hartford without incident a few times, though about nine years earlier Mrs. Buzz slammed the tailgate on my head, giving me a nasty concussion, while unloading the the van at LAX on the way to Hartford. That was a painful flight, but the in-laws picked us up and got us back to Hartford easily enough, and we had first class both ways without trading seats. It was the screaming babies that left a lasting impression, and well, I guess the tailgate, too... Mrs. Buzz would've stranded me at LAX if I didn't get on the flight.

It's a 143 mile drive by car (3 hours) from Hartford, CT airport to the Newark, NJ airport. I think there are more flights out of Newark.

I was tempted, Forrest, but I was only an hour and a half away from home so that's where I am. Hitting the hay early so I can be there for a 5:50 flight.
Problem wasn't really with hartford, something was going on in newark.

I actually really like BDL, because it's so easy to get in and out of, unlike Boston or the NYC-area airports. And I'm really excited that there are direct international flights again!
It's gotten better in the past couple of years, but there isn't a *ton* to do there or eat there, I'll give you that.
