Does iPad delete files after a time?

Like does it delete SENT and other files in mail after a certain time?

That would be done on the mail server. There are some settings you can check.
Look in Settings>Accounts & Passwords - Accounts - AOL : Mail Days to Sync -> I set to 1 month

Mail older than that won’t load.
