While OWC NewerTech NuGuard KX protective cases are great....

They're also on the bulky side...

For somewhat thinner, but still very protective cases, I've become a big fan of Speck Presidio Grip cases.
I would like to go even thinner, but still retain a high level of protection and grip...
So what say ye? Do we have any favorites that are thin, light, grippy, and actually quite protective?
Trying to fit into quick release holsters with tight clearances.
I do have a couple of "secret" candidates that I'm hoping to improve upon in the protection dept, but don't want to influence suggestions.
Thanks.

Otterbox Defender. But the newer version on our iPhone 11s isn’t as protective as the one I am using on an OG SE which I first used on my iPhone 5. Even the Defender knock-off my wife bought at a flea market for her now-retired 5 is better at protecting a phone than the new one. But the new one is fairly compact and fits well in my shirt pocket.

Thinner with a high level of protection is oxymoronic.

The KX for my 5S and OG SE didn't seem particularly bulky as protective cases go.

The cheap silicone case and the plastic shells were thinner, but they offered very little protection against drops, and in some cases, not even scratch protection.

I’m using the Encased DuraClip Series Designed for iPhone 12 Pro Belt Clip Case - Slim Fit Cover with Holster (Black)
by Encased. I had used them before on my 6s and really like them. They have a nice kick stand included on the case and work with magnetic chargers.

It's an Encased quick release holster I'm trying to use... They seem to have a "thin" and "thick" version for most phones..., but I'd like to use another, more protective case, with their thin version. Ideally, the case should be clear, or mostly translucent. For my iP Xr, the Lander cases work, but they're as far from clear/translucent as you can get... and my clear/translucent faves are a smidgen too thick, or too tall the Encased's qr clip. It's the same for other phone models, too, and the larger versions are too big, and don't secure the phone in the "thin" version.

OTOH, "Thinner with a high level of protection is oxymoronic...."  is what I'm trying to find the exception for, knowing that if Lander had a clear/translucent case, it would work.

Hope springs eternal.

I got one of these for $13. Works great and protects the lens on my 11Pro.

I've been using Poetic cases. Like them.

Wags,

That case looks nice except the first thing I'd do is tear off the lens cover. I take enough photos and have to do that at a moments notice that the cover would be a major annoyance. Too bad they don't make a version without it.

That's our go-to for non-folio tablet cases, but the bumpers are too big on the phone cases to use with Encased's thin qr holsters. I'm starting to think I may have to order a sacrificial case among the ones I like, and sand the bottom corners, and a groove across the middle of the top, and see what's left of the case after tailoring it to fit. If that proof of concept works, I could apply that concept to a "keeper" case, unless a workable case shows up in the meantime....
