This notion that previously despicable behavior is a qualifying attribute for public office remains primarily a Republican feature. As of past performance doesn’t predict future behavior. Only power and corruption create this.

But does anyone get an apology or a retraction, let alone a mea culpa? Not with this crowd. Showing strength by doubling down is gonna take them all down.

Private apologies are worthless. The House should hold hearings, force her to testify publicly and disavow her nuttiness in front of the world. She is a hypocrite and a charlatan, looking for ways to save her fundraising potential and her committee seats.

Edit: also, where is AIPAC now? When Ilhan Omar said "It's all about the Benjamins," they forced her to bend the knee and make public apology disavowing anti-Semitism. But when it comes to this, I hear nothing. Hypocrisy abounds.
