Larry-book now on sale!

[quote ghoti]How can Apple possibly allow this?
Remember when they shut down the pizza-box plan?

Probably because in this case they are buying the gut's from Apple so Apple is getting the sales
and I'm guessing there was some agreement beforehand.

In the case of Insiders pizzabox , they were using existing replacement MB's from the
repair supply chain and putting it in a case - add your own processor HD, RAM etc ...

In doing so Insider was side stepping the issue by not selling a complete computer
and had no agreement with Apple. (anyone feel free to correct me here - working from memory)

I'm guessing that there were a lot of papers passed on this one and Apple was increasing market
as there is no exiting tablet, where the pizza box was actually costing Apple loss of new sales
(well - I'm sure that was their view)

Insider had a great idea and a lot of us would have liked to see it succeed.

ah, I see. Thanks for the input.
I'm still surprised that Apple would allow this, as I would think that if they wanted a tablet, that THEY'D release a tablet... you know?

Exactly, and Apple hasn't released one, sooooo, they dont want to produce one.
I think there is a small niche market for these modbooks.
