Nighttime tornadoes
#1
To the east of me. Fast forming, took about 10 minutes to form the tornado, 5 minutes to do it’s thing, and is gone already from the radar. In about another hour the system will be out of the TV viewing area.

We have been seeing the storms moving in all afternoon, knowing that these things could form. Big storm system. I hope everyone comes through all right, although at least one radar signature is “significant.” Won’t know how bad it is/was until the morning, but reports of damage are already coming in.

If anyone is in the path of these storms, take care.

Johnson, Shawnee (Oklahoma) points northward and eastward

Thanks. These storms come in from the west going east, and the severe stuff usually goes to the east/northeast, so me and mine are out of danger.

These have been rain-wrapped, making them much harder to see. Radar has been a godsend around here.

Yikes! Whoa. I'm glad you got that radar. I don't know how it helps though.

That is a frightening combination of words! I've never witnessed a Tornado, only its aftermath.

I saw earlier in the paper that Oklahoma was in danger of severe storms. I’m glad you’re okay.

Yep, the Second Season. First of the cold fronts of the approaching Winter slamming into the still warm moist air to the South. Just like Spring...

Yikes. Be safe, make sure to have your "safe room", etc., that's what I did for Ida.
