FOUND: Dual Drive External Enclosure w/FireWire 800 Connectivity
#1
I need to replace an old Wiebitech Dual Drive enclosure that has recently become flakey... I suspect it's a problem on the main circuit board, as replacing cables/trays/drives/PSU have not corrected the issue.
It's too old for any support from the manufacturer.

Seeking an enclosure that holds at least 2 3.5" SATA drives. More drive bays is OK too.

MUST have at least 1 FW 800 connection! Additional connectivity a plus.

Built in Raid capability a plus.

I like enclosures with built in power supplies rather than an external brick, but I'll take what I can get here.

TIA

I’m on business travel but will check when I get home. I’m pretty sure I still have an old OWC dual FW enclosure

I *think* I have an older G-Tech G-SAFE https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/6...l/overview FW800, eSATA, USB 2.0, RAID 1 (and only RAID 1), built in power, but it's in storage and I don't think I'll be over there until the end of the month. I'd have to put eyes on it to make sure it's this model, but it's definitely a dual-bay something.

Also have a G-Tech G-RAID https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1...l/overview that's with me now, FW800, USB 3.0, eSATA, external power supply.

Gareth, The G-Safe looks very similar to the enclosure that I have, and would fit the bill nicely provided it supports drives over 2TB.

It seems many external devices from this era are stuck at 2TB (ask me how I know)!
