Chicago Tribune Endorses Obama
#1
This endorsement makes some history for the Chicago Tribune. This is the first time the newspaper has endorsed the Democratic Party's nominee for president.

Holy smoke. I never thought THAT would happen.

I was at Interlochen, Mich., the summer that Watergate came to the boil. The Trib was the only big-city paper we could get there. The paper didn't cover all that much about Watergate, but what it did print leaned toward Nixon, and the editorial page thundered on about special prosecutors and their abuse of power. Nothing about Nixon's abuse of power to be sure!

At the beginning of August the Trib printed an editorial that said Nixon should step aside for the good of the country. We figured it was over and sure enough, a couple of days later Nixon resigned.

The thing was Interlochen was crawling with Watergate kids--little Zieglers and Strachans and Garments and Sloans. So we had to watch what we said, not because of any official edict but because they were nice kids and no one wanted to hurt them.

After the way the Trib defended Nixon that summer, I never figured they would go for anyone but a Republican, but then Obama's a favorite son, so maybe that has something to do with it.

The first time they've endorsed a Democrat in 161 years. Next thing you know, the Cubbies will win a World Series.

Oh, this would be causing poor Spearmint great, great stress and grief. Between the Cubbies getting to the playoffs and then losing, and the Tribune endorsing a Democrat...

I don't play, BL. I was helping with the operetta and theater productions. It's a glorious place to work--music everywhere, and great artists playing every night.

Demonstrating that a crooked city can have crooked newspapers too. After all the enormous amount of evidence of what a
filthy Chicago Democrat 0bama is with connections to radicals and thieves the Chic Tribune dumps all their evidence in the
garbage and embraces it. Of course, that's exactly what they did in all their articles on 0bama too. Forget about all his friends
and allies who they have had to report on because of their criminal behavior which has led to investigations and arrests and
convictions too. No free press in Chicago. It's all been sold to the Democrats.

Leftists are evil, deranged weirdos. I have never seen so much insanity as I have in the last 10
years with leftists. It is like they all lost their collective minds!
