Vacuum cleaner is dying
#1
My 19 year old Eureka Mighty Mite vacuum is about to bite the dust.

The last time I used it there was the unmistakable screeching sound of a bearing in distress. This morning I took it apart for the 1st time ever, cleaned & oiled it, put it back together but the sound persists. I'd never disassembled it before because the case is held together by torx screws. After years of mucking around with computers I had a torx screw driver that fit.

Guess it's true that nothing lasts forever. The real bummer is that last month I bought a supply of vacuum bags from eBay, since no B&M store stocks bags for this little beast any more.

Get another Mighty Mite, my local Farm & Fleet frequently has them on sale for about $50. I have one I use in the basement, does an excellent job.

We've got a Mighty Mite that's a few years old and we can get bags at Meijer (3rd party brand, our usual source ) and Target (Eureka brand), plus I believe Sears sells them. If you've been happy with the Mighty Mite I'd say get another one.
