Was the juice of a lemon so acidic ...

that there were black mold inside a spray plastic bottle of water, and turned the stainless steel ring of the kitchen sink black as well. I suspect it's the water and not the lemon juice itself. I could be wrong. What do you think caused the black mold?

Want a really cool demonstration? Demonstrate the polar nature of the water molecule by rubbing a blown up balloon on a piece of wool and then bring the balloon next to a thin stream of water. You could probably even challenge most high school chemistry students to try and explain what's going on.
