Need to wipe user accounts from Mac, some won't go away.

Hi,

1. I've deleted all user accounts except for the admin, but at login one of the others still shows in the menu. What else can I do?

2. On both login options I see the name of a former employee right under the "Mac OS X" logo. It is nowhere in the accounts section of preferences. Need to get that out of there as well.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Thanks. Got the name changed.

However, there is still a phantom account somewhere. It shows up as "Other" in the list at login. I can't locate anything on it. Any idea where this might be?

Also, the "Home" folder (with icon) and the "short name" still has the name of the last worker.

Thanks.

"Other" means the computer is conected to a Directory server... It's not an account by itself, just a place holder to allow logging into an account on a server.

You cannot easily change the short name of an account - create a new Admin account (with a new short name) and delete the other one.
