Okay—one more time about printers
#1
i've been looking at past posts about ink jets. My C84 is just not working well, finally got to the point where it just clogs too much for good print. I'm tired of using up ink trying to unclog it, and I've even tried windex on the innards to no avail. Heck it's probably five years old by now anyway.

So what i've seen recommended on this forum (and the current prices i found them at)
are Canon Pixma 870 ($99 refurb)

Epson: Workforce 610 AiO (59.00 refurb)

Epson: Workforce 633 AiO (89.00 refurb)

Epson Artisan 710 (119 refurb)

Anyone want to weigh in on which is best, in their opinion, to buy or if they know of a better price somewhere?

I had a C80 that was always plugging itself up as well. Dumped it for a Canon Pixma iP6000D a few years ago. The Canon has been happily chugging along on a mixture of Canon and 3rd party ink with no issues, and I alternate between the Canon and an HP laser printer, so the Canon is certainly not getting used every day.

I used to be proud of my ability to unclog "legacy" Epson printers.
I bought a Workforce 600 about 2 years ago and after a year it clogged irreparably. Dumped carts foull of ink down it trying to get it going.

I decided it was time to stop defending Epson and bought a Canon Pixma MX860, partly because it has a removable/replaceable print head.
Love it.

You might have missed my thread below but I picked up an Epson
Artisan 835 for $170 and then they gave me $50 for an old Epson
CX7450 I believe was the number. I actually used it the other day to
finish printing a shipping label. It had been sitting idle in the basement
for 2 years, didn't even have to run a cleaning cycle. I've been running
Epson's for over ten years and have had a few minor clogs but nothing
major. I always say, "Epsons Use them or loose them". Also I've
never another brand of printers print photos like Epsons do.

My Workforce's last clog happened in the middle of a job.

You listed the Canon Pixma 870 refurbished - I presume you saw this on Canon's Refurbished page. I bought a Refurbished Canon Pixma MP960 from them 2.5 years ago. The unit looked brand new and has been an excellent printer. Just to let you know you can buy one of their refurbished units and it should be fine.

staples had a dela recently on Canon PIXMA MP 870 for $80 NEW. If you happen to be a rewards member and recycled any ink cartridges lately you could use those points to pay for the printer. For me next cost was $14, I still have not opened it yet Smile

We've got the Artisian 710 and really like it. It sits for weeks at a time and it's never clogged yet. Prints beautiful pictures and the wireless printing/scanning is easy to setup/use.
