Well, I was considering laptops for the portability factor, and, since we home school, they share a large table where they could each have a laptop set up alongside their books. It would just be such a space-saver.
That being said, we do own one eMac, and that would certainly be my second choice. I LOVE the eMac. The only other issue with a non-laptop is all of the power cords that would have to go somewhere. With an eMac there aren't too many. That may well be what I wind up doing.
I am planning to purchase an iMac for myself, pass this eMac to my son and then I'd have to purchase 2 more (either iBooks or eMacs). I can probably get a more up-to-date eMac for a reasonable price. The one thing is that I have to have airport installed, or I have to purchase the cards and install them. We are definitely going to have all of them on our home wireless network for our satellite internet.
Probably more than you wanted to know, but, any thoughts?
