if its possible what is the best way? (and also the cheapest way)

will flip for mac or some free program allow me to download and hear the library's audio books that aren't in mac format (the pc and wma catalog is much larger) and play it on my mac?

they allow pc Mac WMA ipod(windows formatted) and mp3
but most of the catalog favors pc and wma

I use Flip4Mac with Quicktime to play wma files all the time.

That combo won't play DRM wma files, though.

If your library files aren't copy protected, (DRM) I would imagine F4M (sounds dirty) would do the job.

Also Perian lets a Mac play a lot of wmv files.

My off the cuff answer is no. Whatever flavor of .wma that the Seattle Public Library uses won't work with my Macs because of digital rights management.

Unless you have an Intel mac and have loaded Windows somehow. But at that point you are using Windows on a box with an Apple logo.

try the free version of EasyWMA

maybe the paid $10 version will do it if not.
