I've always selected the name before copying it. Other tips on the same web page.

Cool. I was aware of #4, Paste a copy of a file, but the Finder knows since it can't paste an item into a filename, merely pastes the filename from the other. I also like the hidden cut and paste, #5.

What I would really like to see is an easy way to create a set of new folders with names that correspond to a list of names from a text file. I tried an automator script before but it never quite worked out.
