Canon MP830 died; any multi-function printer deals?
#1
The Canon grinds away when trying to print. I don't have a clue.

Need another multi-function printer pronto.

Don't have a price range; just need something soon for son's college classes.

I've gotten refurbished Canon printers in the past from Canon's refurbished website. The one I bought looked absolutely brand new and has worked great since I bought it two years ago. They currently have 2 listed. They have free ground shipping - may not work if you're in a rush. Here's a link:

I have an MP830 that's still going strong. Actually, I assume it's still going strong but I haven't tried to use it in about 9 months. At an electronics recycling event I "found" a second one that I will use for spare parts - it appears to be fully functional based on the test pages I've printed from it.

Not that this helps you any. If you were nearby I'd consider parting with one or the other.

BTW, the LCD display on both of mine seems to be of exceptionally low quality - poor contrast, poor viewing angles, bad color saturation, and it looks like it's only capable of something resembling 8 bit color at something around 64 x 64 pixel resolution. When I first got it I thought it was defective but now I see the one I salvaged is the same so I assume they're all like that?

I appreciate the responses, LyleH & gabester.

I ordered a Canon MX882 with two-day shipping from the Canon refurb site. I hope that will solve the problem.

Thanks again.
