Safari Update: yeah or nay ?
#1
I am currently using 5.0.5. How is 5.1.2 working out for you ?
Advantages and disadvantages to upgrading . . . ?
I have been experiencing some hangs lately.

My iMac: OS X 10.6.8 /3.06GHz iMac C2D /12GB

TIA

I had troubles with spinning beach ball delays lasting a couple minutes for a few months after first upgrading to 5.1, but it seems to have cleared up in the latest releases. I'm running 10.6.8 on a 2.2 C2D Macbook Pro 15.

No problems with 5.1.2 on a 2.4Ghz mini with 4 gigs of ram and snow leopard.
Some videos hang, but i don't think it's Safari's fault.
YMMV

Nay. My update from 5.0.5 only added problems, and I don't have a lot of plug-ins.

That was on a SR MBP running 10.6.8 with 4GB RAM and an SSD.

I'm posting this from Chrome where I don't see any of the problems I see with Safari visiting my regular websites.

Looks like you're screwed haikuman. you'll have to take the jump, holding your nose, and hope for the best—or stay with your old version.
