video links play via firefox but same video links won't play in safari. huh?

so safari is my go-to browser.

i was watching lynda.com's premiere pro tutorial via safari.

the video didn't play.

there was a player preference check-off on the lynda.com site.

i hit quicktime and everything played.

all good.

while i was still using safari, i went to vimeo and several other sites with embedded videos and nothing would play. in fact, the video window wouldn't even open.

i then went to same sites via firefox and everything opened and played.

how can i re-set whatever i "adjusted" in safari so i can again play embedded videos in safari?

thanks in advance to those who care to share.

be well.

i quit and re-booted.

i re-opened safari and all video windows opened and played.

all good.

I still find that Safari can't negotiate some sites that Firefox and Chrome can. As much as I like the interface of Safari, Chrome is becoming my go-to browser. It already is for work - it's A LOT faster - and sooner or later will be for the rest of my browsing.
