WWI Victory medal given to the grandson of the WWI Veteran who earned it... after the medal got "lost track of" decades earlier.
Since there's no evidence in the story that the medal was "stolen" (and hence no claim that the medal was stolen property), I thought it was very nice of the seller to give it to him when contacted.
The WWI Victory medals are pretty common on eBay, I have one myself (sans ribbon and bar), and go for between $30 and $60, maybe a bit more if they have rare campaign bars affixed (like the US Siberian Expedition bar... those go for many hundreds of $$), but to find one with a provenance to link it to a specific soldier is even rarer.
