Thank you all for remembering! Spent a long day preparing for and then photographing a family friend's wedding today. It was a great success in no small part due to advice some of the forum photogs here shared on what to get as a backup camera body.

I ended up with the Canon T3i... and used it as my primary with my trusty 40D running as the backup and for some wide view shots via remote. Loved the greater sensitivity of the T3i sensor over the 40D... meaning I could do a lot of shots under the tent without flash, by just stopping it up a bit.

So my birthday celebration didn't really start until after 4 pm... Gene, that Margarita would have been perfect... but I did eventually find a tall Gin and Tonic (Beefeater's!) to wash the dust of the road off my lips!

Cake and kids met me at the door when I returned... can't get much better than that!
