Anyone know where I can find a good fogless travel mirror?
#1
I'm really missing my shower setup when I travel. I've gotten addicted to shaving in the shower-- it's great because your skin is swollen, so you get a very clean, close shave, and there is no cleanup afterward because everything goes down the drain.

The problem is that all the travel mirrors I've gotten, even the supposedly "fogless" ones, seem to fog up. (At least one hotel I've been to actually has a true fogless mirror in their shower, but annoyingly, it's mounted right next to the showerhead which makes it difficult to use for shaving because the shaving cream gets showered away as you're using it.) Alternatively, anyone know of a foolproof way of making a regular mirror fogless?

I've been doing this for 20 years. You just put the mirror face down near the drain so that the draining hot water warms it up. Once you've shampooed and brushed your teeth, pick up the mirror, stick it to the wall, and shave.

Many Ace hardware stores sell a cool little suction-cup mirror that travels well. Especially around back-to-school time, every Wal-Mart and Office Depot will have plastic locker mirrors, which are easy to punch a hole in with a pocketknife.

Personally, I like little mirrors with a folding cover, generally sold in the cosmetics department. I choose a nice manly color, drill a hole in the plastic cover and hang it from a suction cup hook. In my travel bag is also a clothespin with a big paper clip twisted through it, for the occasional instance of a porous or rough-textured shower wall that a suction cup won't stick to. The clothespin can be clipped to the shower curtain as an alternative plan.
